FAQs

  • Everyone comes to therapy with unique needs and circumstances. How long you will need therapy depends on your individual goals and rate of progress. I see all new clients once a week. Weekly sessions help to establish a strong foundation for the therapeutic relationship, as well as support momentum towards progress. Over time or in specific circumstances, I may be open to less frequent sessions which can be discussed.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes long and end 10 minutes before the hour, unless otherwise agreed upon.

  • Both! I can provide telehealth services to anyone residing in the state of California, as well as in-person appointments in Pasadena

  • I charge $200 for a 50 minute therapy session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments, so feel free to inquire about those if needed.

I keep a debit or credit card on file for all clients which will be charged at the end of the day of your session.

I understand that therapy is expensive, but that shouldn’t limit you from seeking support. In order to help with the cost of therapy, I can provide you with a superbill for your sessions (please see more info in Insurance section below). If you still need lower fee counseling, here are some alternative resources:

    Open Path Therapy Collective (www.openpathcollective.org)

The Southern California Counseling Center (www.sccc-la.org)

  • I do not accept insurance but can provide you with a superbill to help with the cost of therapy. If you aren’t familiar, a “superbill” is a receipt for therapy that you can give to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please note that you would have to contact your insurance provider to see if they participate, as I am considered an out-of-network provider.

    Good Faith Estimate:

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

  • Please be aware that I am an Opted-Out Provider. This means I am not contracted with Medicare. Medicare will not reimburse you for the cost of my services. If you are a Medicare beneficiary, we will need to enter into a private contract for therapy services in order for me to treat you.

  • Yes, there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel your session, please let me know at least 24 hours before your session time, including if you need to reschedule within the week. If less than 24 hours notice is given or the appointment is missed, you will be responsible for the session fee.
